Freshly Made in Small Batches, With Love

Hi, I’m Amanda — the maker behind Martin’s Jelly and Jam.

I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, where family, community, and good home-cooked meals have always been at the center of life. Growing up, I learned that food is about so much more than nourishment.

Feeding someone is love.

It’s a way to connect, comfort, celebrate, and care for the people we hold dear. That simple belief is at the heart of everything we do at Martin’s Jelly and Jam.

Where It All Began

The real spark for my jelly-making came from my husband Rob’s grandmother.

She never bought jelly or jam — she made it herself. Some of the kids in the family became so accustomed to homemade preserves that they wouldn’t even touch store-bought!

But what stayed with me wasn’t just how good her jam tasted. It was the love and care she put into making it.

Watching her transform simple fruit into something the entire family looked forward to taught me something I’ve carried with me ever since: the kitchen is one of the purest places to say “I love you” without saying a word.

That lesson stuck with me.

Rob and I built our life together beginning in 1993 and raised two amazing daughters. Over the years, so many of our family memories were made around food — Sunday lunches, summer gatherings, holidays, celebrations, and everyday meals filled with laughter, stories, and something homemade on the table.

Eventually, I began making my own jams and jellies, carrying forward the tradition that had inspired me while developing recipes and flavors of my own.

What started as a passion for preserving the best of each season grew into something I was truly proud to share with others.

And Martin’s Jelly and Jam was born.

From Our Kitchen to Your Table

From the beginning, I wanted Martin’s Jelly and Jam to feel like something made in a home kitchen — because that’s exactly what it is.

Every jar of jelly, jam, and fruit butter is made by hand in small batches using quality ingredients chosen for great flavor.

No shortcuts. No unnecessary fillers. Just real ingredients, time, and care.

Over time, our kitchen has grown beyond preserves. Today, Martin’s Jelly and Jam also includes handcrafted dry mixes, seasonings, flavored sugars, beverage mixes, and other pantry favorites.

Some recipes are traditional. Others are a little unexpected. And there’s usually something new being dreamed up in the kitchen.

But no matter what we make, the philosophy remains the same:

Freshly made in small batches, with love.

Why Small-Batch Matters

Small-batch means we never have to sacrifice quality for quantity.

Each batch gets the attention it deserves. It’s carefully prepared, monitored, and finished by hand. Making things this way allows us to embrace quality ingredients, experiment with new flavors, and create products we’re genuinely proud to put the Martin’s Jelly and Jam name on.

There’s also something special about preserving a little piece of a season.

Opening a jar of strawberry jam in January can take you right back to the height of summer. A familiar flavor can remind you of someone you love, a holiday you celebrated together, or a meal shared around the family table.

That’s what homemade food has always meant to me.

More Than What's in the Jar

One of the greatest joys of Martin’s Jelly and Jam has been meeting so many of you at local markets.

I’ve loved sharing samples, talking about new flavors, seeing familiar faces return, and hearing how something we made has found its way into your morning routine, a holiday gift basket, a family dinner, or even a new tradition of your own.

Those moments mean more to us than you probably realize.

Today, whether you shop with us at a local market, find Martin’s Jelly and Jam in a local store, or order online, you’re getting that same small-batch goodness — made by hand and packed with care.

Because this has never been just about selling a jar of jam.

It’s about sharing something made with love.

Continuing Our Story

In 2026, our family experienced a tremendous loss when we lost Rob.

His connection to this story goes all the way back to the beginning. After all, it was his grandmother and her homemade jam that first planted the seed that would eventually become Martin’s Jelly and Jam.

After losing him, my daughters and I had to decide what the future of Martin's Jelly and Jam would look like.

Together, we decided to continue.

We believe that’s what Rob would have wanted us to do.

Continuing Martin’s Jelly and Jam has become more than simply continuing a business. It’s one way we can honor where this journey began while continuing to build something meaningful for the future.

There are bittersweet moments, but there is also so much love behind what we do.

Every new recipe, every market, every returning customer, and every product that leaves our kitchen is another little piece of the story continuing.

Martin’s Jelly and Jam was built from a love of family, food, and tradition — and those are the very things that keep us going today.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Story

Thank you for allowing us to share our story — and a little piece of our hearts — with you.

From our kitchen to your table, we hope every jar, mix, seasoning, and blend brings a little warmth, comfort, and happiness to your home.

With gratitude and love,
